Stella Maris: Boys Grades 1 through 12.
At Stella Maris Stamford, we form young men of intellect, character, and purpose. Through a rigorous academic program rooted in truth and virtue, students are challenged to pursue excellence not only in learning but in the development of their minds and hearts.
Our distinctive narrative-driven approach places each student at the center of his own story, helping him understand his education as both a personal journey and a responsibility to the common good.
We believe true greatness is measured not by accolades but by a life of meaning, excellence, and service. Here, students cultivate intellectual curiosity, moral courage, and a clear sense of purpose, guided by a friendship with Christ that shapes how they see the world and their place within it.
Our mission is to help the genius, the hero, and the saint within each student emerge and flourish. At Stella Maris, education is the formation of the whole person, mind, heart, and spirit, preparing young men to lead with wisdom, serve with compassion, and live with integrity and joy.

At Stella Maris, formation doesn’t end at the classroom door. Our priests are right there in the life of the boys: on the field at recess, in the laughter, in the small moments that shape great men. They fight for each student to discover the hero, the genius, and the saint within him, not just in words, but in presence.
As Pope John Paul II once showed through his own love for sports, the playing field is never just a game, it’s a school of virtue, where discipline, brotherhood, and perseverance take root.
At Stella Maris, whether it’s a game, a conversation, or a quiet example, our priests show that holiness is not distant: it’s lived, daily, and with joy. #catholicschool #stamford #schoolofvirtue #stellamaris

There is something quietly profound about a Friday in Lent.
At Stella Maris, the noise of recess fills the air, laughter, running feet, the ordinary joy of youth. And yet, it is not unusual to come across with a student, alone, choosing silence… choosing prayer.
Not assigned. Not required. Simply chosen.
In that small act, the whole mystery of Lent becomes visible. The world invites distraction, but the soul, when awakened, seeks God. And here is a young heart already learning what saints spend their lives discovering: that true freedom is found not in doing more, but in turning inward, and upward.
It is easy to overlook these moments. But they are the quiet victories of grace. The hidden roots of holiness growing beneath the surface.
“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10
Today, the Stella Maris Middle School boys walked not just through the streets of Hartford, but into a deeper understanding of what it means to stand for life.
Every human life, from its first hidden moment, carries an infinite dignity that does not need to be earned. Existence itself is a gift, not a possession; we are not self-made, but received; to defend life is to cooperate with the Creator who calls each person into being out of love.
Life is sacred. Always. And worth every step.
We are so proud of our 2nd graders who received their First Confession! What a beautiful and sacred moment as they encountered the infinite mercy of God. In this sacrament, hearts are renewed, souls are made new, and a joy is given that only forgiveness can bring. #blessings #stellamarisstamford #stamford
Last week our halls were filled with curiosity, creativity, and the joy of discovery as our students from 3rd through 8th grade presented their projects at the Stella Maris Science Fair.
From physics experiments and engineering designs to biology investigations and creative problem-solving, our students demonstrated that the spirit of scientific inquiry is very much alive at Stella Maris.
We are incredibly proud of our Saintly Geniuses, young minds who are learning that the pursuit of truth in science is another way of marveling at the beauty and order of God’s creation. Their dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm remind us that faith and reason grow beautifully together.
A heartfelt thank you to our students, teachers, and families who made this inspiring day possible. #StellaMarisStamford #ScienceFair #SaintlyGeniuses #FaithAndReason #YoungScientists
We are deeply grateful to @bishopfrankcaggiano for coming to bless our new chapel at Stella Maris and @matersalvatoristamford . Even with little voice, his message carried strength, clarity, and conviction. His presence reminded us that true leadership flows not from volume, but from faith lived with courage and joy.
We are truly blessed to walk under his shepherding care and to be part of a community guided by such devoted and inspiring leadership. May we honor this blessing by living our faith boldly each day, building a chapel not only of stone, but of strong hearts, grateful souls, and steadfast commitment to what is good and true. #catholicschool #stamford #inspiringgreatness
Today our Stella Maris & @matersalvatoristamford family gathered to begin the holy season of Lent with the celebration of Ash Wednesday. With humble hearts and marked foreheads, we were reminded that we belong to God and are called to return to Him with renewed love. There is something beautiful about starting this journey together as a community: praying, reflecting, and committing ourselves to grow in faith. May this Lenten season shape our boys into men of courage, integrity, and deep devotion.
