The Company of the Savior is a female Religious Institute of pontifical right, founded in 1952 by Venerable Servant of God Mother María Félix Torres. Guided by the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the motto “For the Greater Glory of God,” the Sisters take an explicit vow of obedience to the Pope and devote themselves to apostolic service for the Holy Church.
Charism and Mission
The defining charism of the Company is to teach and instill Catholic doctrine and Christian social principles in children, teens, and college students worldwide. Through joyful education rooted in faith, they form hearts open to God’s truth, virtue, and the common good, accompanying families in the mission of evangelization.
Global Presence
Today, the Sisters serve in ten communities across five countries on four continents: Europe, North America, South America, and Africa.
Mater Salvatoris
Due to their extraordinary love for the Blessed Virgin Mary, Queen and Mother of the Company of the Savior, they bear the titleMater Salvatoris(“Mother of the Savior”). In Stamford, this maternal spirit enlivens Mater Salvatoris College Prep School for Girls, nurturing daughters of Mary in wisdom, piety, and heroic charity.
