At Stella Maris, Life in Christ forms the heart of our educational mission, guiding boys toward a profound friendship with Jesus through sacraments, formation, mentorship, and joyful community life. Inspired by the Disciples of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we foster authentic faith that integrates prayer, virtue, and daily witness in school and family.
Faith Life at School
Daily prayer led by our Chaplain, monthly Confessions, & First Friday Eucharistic Adoration invite every boy to encounter Christ in the school chapel. Liturgical seasons come alive through Advent nativity scenes, Lenten practices of fasting & almsgiving, May crowning of Mary, & feasts like All Saints’ Day, St. John Paul II Day, & Stella Maris Day. Family retreats during Advent & Lent, plus Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, deepen communal bonds & personal holiness.
The sacraments—Baptism, First Confession, First Communion, and Confirmation—are new beginnings of grace, preparing boys to live as apostles of Christ. In Second Grade, the First Communion program teaches reverence for the Eucharist as the source and summit of Christian life, with journaling, prayer memorization, and post-Communion altar serving. Eighth Graders receive Confirmation to strengthen their bond with the Church, becoming bold witnesses to the Gospel through the Holy Spirit’s gifts.
Rooted in St. John Paul II’s teachings, Theology of the Body reveals the body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, calling boys to self-gift, virtue, and heroic sanctity. Integrated across the curriculum, it forms “men with great souls” who unite faith and reason, fostering authentic friendships and moral freedom in service to love. This experiential learning equips students to live their God-given identity with courage, gravitas, and purpose for eternity.
The Marian Congregation plays a pivotal role in fostering a joyful life in Christ and a strong sense of community among students at Stella Maris. Rooted in the tradition of the Church and dedicated to the honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Congregation aims to nurture a profound relationship with Mary, encouraging students to emulate her virtues and respond to her maternal guidance in their lives.
The Dads Group at Stella Maris offers fathers the opportunity to build a supportive community, one where they can grow together in the essential virtues of fatherhood. Through this initiative, fathers are equipped to navigate the challenges of modern parenting, strengthening both their families and the broader community.
Mentors—dedicated teachers—meet quarterly to guide academic, character, and relational growth, modeling integrity as good students, friends, and sons. Spiritual fathers, our priests, offer monthly meetings for reflection, Confession, and Christ-centered dialogue, directing souls to the Holy Spirit like companions on the road to Emmaus. This trusted accompaniment nurtures purpose, faith, and service in students and families.
The Mountaineers of the Immaculate Conception invites boys to hike monthly, celebrating Mass at summits while cultivating Ignatian virtues like perseverance, unity, and joy in challenges. Altar Servers grow in Eucharistic devotion, serving school liturgies as apostles witnessing God’s friendship, echoing Pope Benedict XVI’s call to heartfelt service.
Like the North Star, the Polaris Project orients pastoral life around friendship with Christ through four pillars: the body as temple, human mediations in community, sacramental vision, and rites of passage. Yearly itineraries—from First Communion to senior pilgrimages—address human aspects like food, chastity, and manliness, culminating in retreats and celebrations of spiritual fruits. This holistic path illuminates life’s purpose, making faith the light for boys’ journey to divine fulfillment.
The family is the foundation of a healthy society. With this conviction, Mater Salvatoris School and Stella Maris School have joined forces to create a shared mission that serves and strengthens the entire family. Together, we walk alongside parents in their beautiful vocation as the primary educators of their children. From Preschool through High School, our schools accompany students and families through every stage of formation — spiritually, academically, and personally.
